Save the Land and Preserve the Trail

Save the Land and Preserve the Trail

Guided hike this Sunday for a good cause.

Join us on Sunday, July 14,  for a Preservation Hike  near Emmerling Park to learn more about the Allegheny Land Trust  (ALT)  Deer Creek Conservation Project.  ALT aims to permanently conserve the woodlands above Emmerling Park by acquiring a parcel of land. This is project is near and dear to our hearts as our trail runs through the parcel. The land acquisition will ensure our trail remains in tact.

The 280-acre property hosts a portion of the Rachel Carson Trail as it climbs out of the Deer Creek Valley.  In addition to preserving over a mile of the Rachel Carson Trail for future generations, conserving this green space will preserve the character of the community, build resiliency, and provide expanded public recreational opportunities.

Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy will match all donations in July up to a cumulative total of $50,000.  This is your chance to experience the benefits of your contribution and to have your contribution doubled! Donate today!  Any and all donations we receive in July will go toward this project. Simply go to our Donate Page and contribute any amount of money. RCTC will match up to $50,000.
