Saturday, August 26th, is the 19th annual Baker Trail UltraChallenge, a 50-mile race that can be tackled solo or as part of a relay team. (Note: both events are sold out. Wait list is available for solo race on the registration page

Whether you're registered for the race or not, join us this Saturday, July 15, for an all-paces training run which starts in the Allegheny National Forest.

If you plan to attend this training run, please sign up here: link to sign-up form

We’ll cover the first 18 miles of this year’s course, complete with two aid stations (same locations as race day) to help you fine-tune your hydration and nutrition strategies plus familiarize you with the course.

The training run is an 18-mile point-to-point run. Logistics are as follows:

  • Date: Saturday, July 15th
  • Meet-up time: 7:30 a.m.
  • Meet-up location: Gravel Lick Road (click here for directions) We will leave a few cars at the Gravel Lick location and carpool to the starting point of our run, which is the Baker Trail northern terminus, also where the race starts.  Since cell phone reception is notoriously spotty, click here to access a pdf file containing driving directions from Gravel Lick to the northern terminus. What happens is you'll park at the Gravel Lick Location, and then realize you've lost cell phone reception. Download google maps to be local on your phone or consider printing the pdf file before you get in the car.
  • Run starts at 8:00 a.m. from northern terminus

Again, if you plan to attend, please sign up here: link to sign-up form. We need to know who is coming. Emails to registered attendees will be sent prior to the run with more information.

The aid station chart on the Participant Page shows our starting point as "Northern Terminus" and our finish point as "Gravel Lick Road." Also on this page you'll find details regarding the course (e.g. surfaces and elevation). The July 15th training run is nearly all single-track trail in the forest.
