Baker Suspension Bridge - Phase 1

We will be setting the forms and pouring concrete for the anchors and poles of the bridge
Project: 1st Phase of the construction of a suspension bridge over Cherry Run near Crooked Creek. In the 60's there was a double cable over this creek. It has been gone since at least the 80's. We are replacing it with a suspension bridge. We will be forming and setting the anchor points for the bridge this weekend. We have a small backhoe coming to dig the holes but we are still in need of help! The date is very bad timing since the Rachel Carson Challenge is the following week, BUT the mastermind behind this bridge is coming from the Allegheny National Forest and he works weird shifts that change allowing him limited weekends off. He has constructed most of the bridge at home and disassembled it. We need to install it! The 2nd phase is scheduled for the first weekend in August. We will be hanging the cables, laying the decking and if all goes well finishing the bridge. It should be a very interesting project. Please consider giving a couple hours to help make this project a reality. It will be a great addition to the Baker Trail. There is a similar suspension bridge about 5 miles north of Cook Forest over Maple Creek. When: SATURDAY 6/14: 8 AM - ?
