Challenge discount registration closes tomorrow!

The deadline for discounted advance registration is tomorrow

Friday June 9 is the last day to take advantage of the discounted advance registration for the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge. See the Challenge 2006 page for a link to the active.com registration site. After tomorrow, the entry fee increases from $35 to $45, until June 21. After that, you may only register on-site at the Bobwhite Shelter in Harrison Hills park, beginning at 5 AM on June 24, in which case the fee will be $60 cash or check (no credit cards).

Rachel Carson Trail Eastern Trailhead Parking Alert

"No Parking" signs installed at the parking area across from the eastern trailhead on Freeport Road.

The adjacent landowner was tired of picking up trash and other junk tossed out by thoughtless people so he installed several "No Parking" signs as a deterrent. He will allow trail users to park there, but please place a sign or note on your dash indicating "trail" or "RCT" before you head out. And please, don't litter!

Bridge renamed in honor of Rachel Carson
